Hi: Far as I know, no PCMCIA speech synths (how many are there, anyway?) are supported as yet. PCMCIA synths would have trouble since the OS would have to initialise them before they would work, requiring either Kirk (or someone) to write a speakup-specific PCMCIA driver, or to wait till modules are complete allowing the loading of synths after boot-up. Serial port would seem to be your only option at present. Geoff.
