NumPad problem

Some distributions load a keymap near the end of the boot process. You
could counteract the effect in a couple ways. One would be to add a keymap
load at the end of all your startup scripts. Another would be to dig into
the scripts and change what keymap is loaded by default.

In RedHat distribution, the default keymap can be changed by editing
/etc/sysconfig/keyboard.
