I don't disagree with the change, but I think the changelog is
misleading.
strlcpy(ptr, ...) then strlcat(ptr, ...) does not use the known
length of the first copied string and is generally not faster than
ptr += snprintf(ptr, ...) then sprintf(ptr,...)
