DVD write speed 24x or 62x ?

I've a Lenovo ThinkPad T420, where the dmesg output for various kernel
versions gives for the optical drive always:

sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 24x/24x writer dvd-ram cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray

However once (no kernel config change nor BIOS update nor ...) I got :

sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 24x/62x writer dvd-ram cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray

Now I'm wondering about the speed difference. Both dmesg outputs are
attached to this message.
