SCSI Rescan question

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hey all,

I have replaced a faulty (external) Ultrium tape on a RHEL 2.1 server.
I have read that you can rescan the SCSI bus with:
echo "scsi scan-new-devices" > /proc/scsi/scsi
( http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_46_4011.shtm )

Will this re-set the SCSI bus?
(the system is currently in production and chances are -very slim- that they
will let me do a Cold Reboot)

Thanks,

Kit
