So I had a look through the commits between v3.10 and v4.14 and this
one sticks out:
ea0a95d7f162 ("fcoe: Use kfree_skb() instead of kfree()")

While I think it is necessary to release a skb with kfree_skb() it
still might be worth trying to revert it for a test run.
