If anyone read the last email I sent about this, I'm sorry I didn't know
how busy this list must be. Here's the complete rundown

I have a dell pe650 server which last worked running a 2.6.7 kernel, I
think it was a development kernel. under a livecd this is the lspci,
lspci -n output so you can see exactly what card i'm using.

spci:

here is the bootup from the old 2.6.7 kernel:

after working with dsd, a gentoo developer, it was determined that on a
current kernel version (2.6.16-r9) the LSI MegaRAID New Driver is needed
for my controller.

Here is the bootup from the 2.6.16-r9 kernel:

megaraid cmm: 2.20.2.6 (Release Date: Mon Mar 7 00:01:03 EST 2005)
megaraid: 2.20.4.7 (Release Date: Mon Nov 14 12:27:22 EST 2005)

megaraid: fw version:[6.62] bios version:[1.03]
scsi0 : LSI Logic MegaRAID driver

scsi[0]: scanning scsi channel 1 [Phy 1] for non-raid devices
scsi[0]: scanning scsi channel 2 [Phy 2] for non-raid devices
scsi[0]: scanning scsi channel 3 [Phy 3] for non-raid devices
scsi[0]: scanning scsi channel 4 [virtual] for logical drives

dsd concluded there is most likely a problem in the new driver detecting
the hard drives and referred me to this list. I'm pretty new to all of
this so I'm not sure what other information I can provide to help
resolve this but i would appreciate any help you could offer.

Thank you in advance,
Adam Turner
