QLogic qla2xxx firmware

Reading the config help for the qla2xxx driver in 2.6.16 indicates that the firmware for the various cards can be downloaded from <ftp:// ftp.qlogic.com/outgoing/linux/firmware/>. This FTP directory exists, but is empty.

I'm rather concerned that my QLA2100 is going to stop working if I update to this or future kernels without first retrieving a firmware image. Is this correct? Where should this firmware be found if not from the indicated URL?
