I wrote a very similar patch already.  I knew I should have sent it on
Friday. :(

Patch looks good, just a real minor point.

>  	phy->dev.class = phy_class;
>  	phy->dev.parent = dev;

> +	phy->dev.of_node = node?node:dev->of_node;

There should be spaces either side of the '?' and ':', or you can do
this more succinctly by:

phy->dev.of_node = node ?: dev->of_node;
