Hmm.. actually fw version is in the form of 0x44120629.
The 8 MSB bits can be 0x44 or 0x45 depending on fw capabilities.
So we need to do  (dev->ver & 0xffffff).
And since the version date is a BCD value, we can check like this

#define MFC_V6_FIRMWARE_INTERFACE_V2 0x120629
return (dev->ver & 0xffffff) >= MFC_V6_FIRMWARE_INTERFACE_V2;
