[ANNOUNCE][CFP] Summit on a Summit 2019

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

What: High altitude realtime workshop 2019 edition
When: 31.05.2019 to 02.06.2019
Where: Glungezer lodge (near Innsbruck, Austria)

The goal of this summit is to discuss the hot topics in Linux RT in a
cool and relaxed setting with spectacular views in the Austrian alps.

Note: To reach the location a 2 hours alpine hike is necessary. There is
no other means to reach the lodge. Furthermore, the location is very
small which means the number of attendees is very limited. In the last
years turn up was around 10 to 12 attendees.

As a warning, there is a lot of snow this winter, so we might have to cross long snow fields again this year (probably like the first year, if not worse).

- FORMAT

The summit is organized to cover 2 days of discussion and talks.

The list of topics includes (but is not limited to):

 * Maintenance of the stable real time trees
 * The real time patch set might have been merged, what now?
 * Ideas on how to help other developers understand RT
 * How to handle new issues that mainline may bring to RT
 * ...

Obviously, also pure technical topics are of highly appreciated.

Deadline: April 14

- VENUE

Since the lodge is a few hours by foot from civilization, staying at the
lodge strongly recommended.

First and most important: yes there is power available and we will have
a WiFi hotspot. It will not be fast, but checking for some emails it
should be okay. But not for streaming videos.

You should have a pair of good hiking shoes (This is really important!).
It is not a difficult path just in case the weather is nasty. Also a rain jacket is highly recommended to bring with you.

It also a good idea to bring your own sleeping bag and ear plugs. You will be sharing a simple room when sleeping.

A hiking backpack should be enough to bring cloths and other equipment
with you for 3 days.

Food and drinks are available at the lodge. The hike to the lodge is
around 2 hours (7 km). So it is not particular long but you might want
to bring some drinking or food with you.

While there is no charge for the conference you still need to pay for the food and lodging.
