git clone git://git.foo.org/bar

Instead of using git I always download from

https://www.kernel.org/

https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/

https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/
