FWIW, I notice changed i2c indexes in dmesg depending if I include the
i2c aliases visible in below commits:

fcb008a75702c9 ("arm64: dts: r8a7796: add I2C support")
32bc0c51be7c9d ("arm64: renesas: r8a7795: add I2C support")
