While removing the config space from the ranges in the relevant DTs is ok you are breaking DT compatibility for the sake of it. I don't see how this patch improves anything. We already warn loudly in the designware driver if config space isn't available in the regs property. We already had a break in DT compatibility on imx6 to get the bindings right and I will not allow another one to happen unless there is a clear benefit.
