This seems to work for me too (ie I undid the other patches, and
applied this on top of a pristine -git tree).

So as a replacement for the random delay, it seems better.

It obviously does nothing for the crazy ehci issues on this laptop.
Not that those impact usability - they are just annoying messages and
seem to imply that there is some confusion going on, but everything
seems to *work* fine.
