Is that too much noise though? Too much noise for this patch, yes. Put things in the right place for new patches/changes. If you want to go back and just make a "fix this file to be checkpatch clean" patch, that's fine as well, but don't merge it with other changes at the same time, as that makes it pretty unreviewable.
