I did a quick testing with 2.6.28-rc2 on my Itanium Hitachi machine and
aer driver does work.

Do you use your prior machine? Or a new machine?

What does "0x.0" here mean? Does it mean representing a couple of devices?

Would you like to send me the output of command dmesg?

I diff source code directory drivers/pci/pcie between 2.6.27 and 2.6.28-rc2.
The change is clear and doesn't touch ACPI codes.
