HP FireGL-UX card (A7789-60510) on an HP Visualize C3700 workstation.  Debian SID, Kernel 4.19-rc3 (kernel.org)

Card recognised during POST/IPL (640x480) and during initial Linux boot, but on loading GXT4500 Framebuffer module, the signal vanishes, with no errors shown...

# modprobe gxt4500
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 160x64
fb0: IBM GXT6000P frame buffer device
< display blanks - lost signal >

LSPCI output:

04:02.0 VGA compatible controller: IBM GXT6000P Graphics Adapter (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Diamond Multimedia Systems Fire GL3
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 255, IRQ 26
        Memory at fffffffff7000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=128K]
        Memory at fffffffff8000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64M]
Expansion ROM at fffffffff7040000 [disabled] [size=256K]
        Kernel driver in use: gxt4500
        Kernel modules: gxt4500

I cannot find any specific references to this problem, so far..

Thanks.

Robert Gadsdon.
