Wild guess since my baby's into this mess: somebody fucked
up^W^Wmodified some code in sysfs and didn't care enough about the
consequences.

I'm not sure it's sysfs either.
This crash happens in sysfs, but other in memory, locking, ...
It's just random where and when it crashes.
