I've tried to reproduce Dave's reported success with recent kernels, but have been unable to do so. I haven't narrowed it down to a specific commit yet, but have verified that the problem surfaces for me at the rc2 -> rc3 transition. This is suspiciously near the time of the switch to the mainline version of omap_hsmmc.c . . . I'll keep digging.
