I guess the most likely culprit's the weird locking at the end of
init_open_stateid().

I believe one of those locks (stp->st_mutex) is on an object that's not
visible outside this thread yet.  But maybe there's something else wrong
there, I'll look....  I wonder why I'm not hitting it?

Anyway, this looks likely to be a different bug from the one Eryu Guan's
hitting.
