Sure thing.  On a second review, it seems that the "named constant"
patch may not be strictly necessary, though bumping the value avoids
needing to do a malloc every operation.  I think I'll take a quick shot
at re-spinning that patch to use a dynamically growing static buffer
instead[1], and re-send the patch after that.

[1] I was hesitant to do this at first due to all the references to
"threads", but from what I can tell (a) nfs-utils doesn't use threads
and instead fork(), and (b) the same technique is already used in at
least one other place in the code.
