I've enabled KASAN, shut down NFSD, and disabled rpcbind.
Using the /proc/fs/nfsd/threads interface, I can reproduce
the "unable to register" messages, but not the KASAN splat.

I think Neil's analysis above is correct or very close. I
don't have nfsdctl set up here, but my guess is that the
syzbot is abusing the new netlink command API, causing
nfsd_file_cache_init() to fail somehow and the error
flow is leaving the kernel vulnerable to a UAF.
