Right you are.  For what it's worth, a test of MTU == 1280 with WinXP
seems to be working.  Still no joy on the Linux side...  In another
thread I started, the Linux driver is reporting a different (bogus) MAC
address compared to the WinXP driver.  I have to conclude that the Linux
driver is looking in the wrong place.
