Problem with forcedeth Ethernet driver on high load (especially with SMB traffic)

Hello!

I'm running Fedora 10 with nearly latest kernel: Linux machine 2.6.27.9-159.fc10.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Dec 16 14:47:52 EST 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Normal work even with rsync and netio tests seems ok, but doing copying of large files through samba/SMB makes problems (timing?):
kernel: eth0: link down.
kernel: eth0: link up.
kernel: eth0: link down.
kernel: eth0: link up.
kernel: eth0: link down.
kernel: eth0: link up.

The interface seems to be stalled afterwards. A service network restart typically helps.

I've found several problem reports and possible fixes:

Do the fixes help? When are they integrated into the main kernel?

Thnx.

Ciao,
Gerhard
