Status on support for Realtek RTL8111B

My motherboard has a NIC on it that lspci reports as a "Realtek
Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B". In the past, the Linux
support for this chip hasn't been very good. Like other reports I see
on the net, when I try to use this NIC, it works for a little while,
after which the NIC seems to just die. It stops transferring data,
and any process trying to transfer data also hangs up. I think some
were even unkillable. Only a cold boot will unlock the chip.

What's the current state of the driver for this chip? Has this
problem been fixed yet?

Thanks.
