Forwarding multicast packets.

Hello Folks,

Please excuse me if this is not the correct forum for my question. I
intend to use linux running on a powerpc board to forward multicast
packets received through an upstream interface (eth1) to multicast group
through a downstream interface(eth2). I have tried running smcroute and
igmpproxy however it doesn't make a difference. Using tcpdump I do see
multicast packets coming in through eth1 however they do not get
forwarded over to eth2. I am running a videolan server (vlc server) on a
server connected to the upstream interface and a vlc client on a system
on the side of the downstream interface. The vlc server lets me choose
the TTL of the multicast strem which I choose as 64.

Am I missing something here ? Please advise.

Thanks in advance,
Pravin
