I think it is usually desireable, but you can use "arp pub" with netmasks
instead of sysctl proxy arp. (Usually you will enable proxy arp on the
interface which connects to your upstream, so it wont match routes
(inclusing default) on that interface.

However I do think it would also be possible to get RFC compliant and ignore
the default route match.
