Uncommon transport protocols and Linux

Hi,

I am writing a thesis on entropy based intrusion detection and look for a
reference from the Linux source code. In particular I'm looking for the spot
where Linux's IPv4 implementation drops unsupported transport protocols (for
instance, protocol numbers 138-252 are not assigned at this moment and should
be dropped). I've submitted this question in the local LUG, but the few
pointers I got did not make much sense when reviewing the code.

I would greatly appreciate a hint.

Cheers,
Raimund
