Hmm.

# ifdown eth1
Device eth1 has MAC address 00:30:48:70:3A:07, instead of configured
address 00:30:48:85:B6:E0. Ignoring.

What if there were another 00:30:48:85:B6:E0 on the network?  And it
rebooted?  Would that cause this problem?
