I want to use "ip route get" to get the next hop ip, but I get the following error: RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
my command line is: ip route get from 1.2.3.4 to 192.168.1.1 iif eth0
If I use: ip route get 192.168.1.1, it succeeded.
I don't know why it failed when I add "from" and "iif" option.
Please give me a hand. Thanks a lot.
What kernel? What iproute version?
Here, kernel 2.6.10 and iproute2-ss040831 works ok: root@simple1-M2:~# ip route get from 1.2.3.4 to 192.168.1.1 iif eth0 192.168.1.1 from 1.2.3.4 via 10.10.10.1 dev eth99 src 10.10.10.102 cache mtu 1500 advmss 1460 metric10 64 iif eth0
