I have been observing problems with ICMPv6 Redirect in 2.6.10. The redirect is not obeyed after a routing table garbage collection cycle. Setting the RTF_CACHE flag for the newly created route appears to be the problem. This flag puts a time limit on the route created for the redirect. Shouldn't the limit for the redirect route be the lifetime of the destination cache entry?
