I'm reposting this patch since I haven't heard anything from you for a while. I'd like to at least get some feedback whether this is considered a good or bad thing.

I don't object to the patch, but you should (a) send it to davem@davemloft.net and netdev@oss.sgi.com, and (b) also possibly CC someone more knowledgeable about sysfs than me :/
