Problems with b44 driver in 2.4.27

My apologies if this email hits the wrong people/place, I wasn't entirely sure where to send it so chose the most likely targets. If you are the wrong person to email, I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.


When I try to use the in-kernel b44 driver, I get a strange problem - it is apparently able to send but unable to receive any traffic. This is with the vanilla 2.4.27 kernel, although I remember it not working with 2.4.26 either. In lieu of that, I have been using the bcm4401 drivers from Broadcom which almost work, except they can't count.


I don't really know what information would be useful to you in finding out what is going wrong, but as a start I have attached the output of:

dmesg
ethtool
ethtool -i
ifconfig
lspci -vvv

As you can see from the ifconfig output, traffic is transmitted (a mix of NTP queries and pings in this specific case) but none is ever received. Rebooting into 2.4.27 without b44 and loading the bcm4401 module works fine.

Please cc me any replies as I'm not subscribed to any mailing lists.
