eisa 3com 3c597 on hppa get to work problem

hello,

we are trying since weeks to get a 3c597 (eisa version) working in a HP D- 
Class Server 9000. [TCM5970 -> is a 3com 3c597]

We had used different Kernel versions, differend slots, build modules  and 
read.. read ..read. 
Have anybody an idea??
