eth1 and 2.6.7 kernel

hey,

I am new in this list so please excuse me if the email is going to the
wrong place...

I have the following problem:

I have a bunch of redhat 9 servers, and now we are trying to upgrade
kernels for all of them. In most cases the upgrade is from 2.4.x to
2.6.x.

the problem is that when linux boots from 2.6.x kernel, OS does not
see eth1 device. As if it doesn't exist. I have tried most of 2.6
kernels, and I have tried Fedora, redhat9 and whitebox linux, all with
the same problem: eth0 is working fine and eth1 is not. Both NICs are
on motherboard and their type is the same.

If anyone knew the answer.... :)

thanks,
Karolis
