thanks! I can confirm that this doen indeed fix all tx hangs I have
observed, the driver is behaving admirably, so I hope it gets merged into
mainline soon

however I get a number of log messages:

  floating point used in kernel (task=c0261560, pc=e11c7b64)

(Note that this is ppc) Apparently no ill effects, will try to dig where
it is generating float instructions...
