The adapter is that found on a Asus P4P800 Delux motherboard.  The
User's Manual says it is a "3COM 3C940 Gbit PCI LAN controller".

The driver version is that found in the 2.6.1 GNU/Linux kernel branch
with no other patches.  From /proc:

# cat /proc/net/sk98lin/eth0
