Sending ethetnet frames to myself

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I've try to send a packet to myself via PF_PACKET socket.
The packet is an ICMP ECHO request, Ethernet and IP
destination addreses is set to host sends the packet.
I've saw outgoing packet on the wire with tcpdump,
but sending host doesn't get the packet.

I'd like to know why it happens so? Does the packet arrive
to the ethernet card? If so, who discards the packet, Ethernet
or IP?

Any things, links, docs will be likely :)

Thanks,
