Tg3 problems on IBM's Broadcoms' ServerBlades

Hi

I am starting tg3 (eth0 Broadconm Redhat driver) on Linux at an earlier
stage in the Linux OS bringup . I call it (insmod) from linuxrc at the
Ramdisk
but it fials (tg3_phy_probe fails) with a message: 'problem fetching
invariants of the chip' . I did not check
exactly were inside tg3_phy_probe it failed . Broadcom driver fails with
similar message at the init_5700_board() while activated at the same
bringup stage with message : 'Get Adapter info failed' .
Is there anything (driver or else ) that has to be started before so that
the the tg3 will start smoothly at the Linux ramdisk stage ?

thanks,
