It is not possible as is. If you want to investigate further go ahead,
but probably not worth the effort.  In the modern era, if a system has
networking it needs TCP/IP and making it modular can't possibly speed it
up. There is also reluctance to allow making it easier to replace the existing
Linux TCP/IP with a proprietary one which is what the "hidden agenda" of
most people who ask.
