Quering next hop interface.

Dear all,

In setting of linux as a router having, let's say, 4 network interfaces,
let's assume that a packet is captured at the user-level process using the
libpcap library.

Given this packet (destination ip address of this packet),
is there any use-level system call or method for quering and knowing the
outgoing interface of this packet?
This is related with looking up the routing table at user-level.
