Number of network interrupts per second

Hi,
I am trying to find how much time (per second) kernel
spends in processing top half and bottom half whenever
there is a network traffic at known MB/sec.

I tried enabling CONFIG_NET_PROFILE. but the kernel
does not compiles. Kernel compiles after enabling
CONFIG_HW_FLOW_CONTROL but it dumps on the bootup .

Is CONFIG_NET_PROFILE not working in 2.4.18 ? ( I was
not able to see it in make menuconfig.. I added ti
manually in .config)

Please let me know how to go abt my measurement ?

Please cc me.

Thanks
Amol
