bug report for ppp in 2.5, somewhere between 2.5.65 and 2.5.72

Sometime between 2.5.65 and 2.5.72 something changed with ppp. When I close down my pppoe connection with /etc/rc.d/init.d/stop, it seems to be reliably left with a spurious refcount on ppp0.

The usual occurance instance of this (on 2.5.72) generates logs like the following:

This continues on until the machine is rebooted. One time on the current bk kernel (which I think is supposed to be 2.5.73 but actually has 2.5.72 in the version) I got the following, but I was not able to reproduce it:

Anyone have any ideas what's going on here? I guess the next step is to try and narrow it down to exactly the specific version that caused the problem, but I'm not sure how to get a particular release with bitkeeper.

Thanks,

Chris
