-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all! I've just upgraded my server (x86, Debian stable) to kernel 2.4.20, and since then the network has been buggy. Uploading to the server (using scp) is very slow (between 100-0 KB/sec on a 100 MBit network), and lots of errors occur: eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:FC:21:D1:AC inet addr:10.0.0.1 Bcast:10.0.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:229156 errors:403 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:305728 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 RX bytes:26054575 (24.8 MiB) TX bytes:336039659 (320.4 MiB) Interrupt:10 Base address:0xa000 At first I thought it had something to do with the new 10/100 MBit switch I just bought, but the same behaviour started to appear on another server after I upgraded it to 2.4.20. Both servers use a RealTek 8139 NIC, using the 8139too kernel module. The weird thing is: I've booted my server using the standard Debian kernel (2.4.18-bf2.4) and still the same errors occur! And I'm sure that networking worked fine before the upgrade to 2.4.20. I really hope someone can help me with this, since I really don't have a clue as to how to start fixing this!
