I have two machine with ethernet cards connected point to point . I am generating network traffic using netperf tool on these adapters. The statistics are monitored using netstat -in command. After some time the RX-OK and TX-OK counters are not incremented . They just freeze. But the network interface is up and running .I can ping the interface . TCPDUMP shows packets coming and going out of the interface. Here is the o/p at the time of failure. Kernel Interface table Iface MTU Met RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg eth1 1500 0508033177 0 0 0342766100 0 0 0 BMRU lo 16436 0 236 0 0 0 236 0 0 0 LRU # netstat -in Kernel Interface table Iface MTU Met RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg eth1 1500 0508033177 0 0 0342766100 0 0 0 BMRU lo 16436 0 236 0 0 0 236 0 0 0 LRU # netstat -in Kernel Interface table Iface MTU Met RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg eth1 1500 0508033177 0 0 0342766100 0 0 0 BMRU lo 16436 0 236 0 0 0 236 0 0 0 LRU # netstat -in Kernel Interface table Iface MTU Met RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg eth1 1500 0508033177 0 0 0342766100 0 0 0 BMRU lo 16436 0 236 0 0 0 236 0 0 0 LRU For the ETH1 interface the RX-OK and TX-OK counters does not change. The numbers of bytes Transmitted and received are getting incremented. Does anyone has an idea what's going on ?
