Receive and Transmit packet counts not incremented.

I have two machine with ethernet cards connected point to point . I am
generating network traffic using netperf tool on these adapters. The
statistics are monitored using netstat -in command. After some time the
RX-OK and TX-OK counters are not incremented . They just freeze. But the
network interface is up and running .I can ping the interface . TCPDUMP
shows packets coming and going out of the interface.

Here is the o/p at the time of failure.

For the ETH1 interface the RX-OK and TX-OK counters does not change. The
numbers of bytes Transmitted and received are getting incremented.

Does anyone has an idea what's going on ?

Thanks
