   Neither is __u64 always defined.
   
That's a bug.

   If it's user-visible, it should be the standard C99 uint<size>_t type...

I want to use the user-visible kernel fixed-sized types.
You absolutely must eat this for the existing ABIs such as
rtnetlink and netlink.
