Goodday everyone,
I have a strange problem, I'll like someone to help me out. I'm
running RedHat-7.2 on i686 Pentium II. This server alone is running
sendmail, dns and squid proxy server. I have two interfaces and I use
Ipchains to do the firewalling.
The cache dir for squid is mounted on /cache and I didn't provide
for log files.(i.e access_log /dev/null) etc. It ran for some days and one
morning I can't log in and I saw a strange message as follows:

"<1> Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual
address 00000004
Printing eip:
C322d7be:
*pde = 0000000
Oops: 0000
CPU:0
EIP:0010.........
EFLAGS : 00000010 bla bla
process sh : ---- bla bla
stack:-----
Call Trace : ------
code : 8b 42 04 ..........."

Plse note that my server working properly. Sendmail, http, squid etc. But I
can't login. When I put my login as root, it doesn't ask for the password.
I'm affraid to reboot. Please help me.
Best Regards,
Paul
