Question about ip_foward

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I have following situation:

PC1 ------------- TESTPC
192.168.1.2-eth0 192.168.1.22-eth0
		     10.0.0.140-eth1 --------

On both I have RedHat 7.3.

Routing table is o.k., TESTPC (eth0) is GW to PC1

Now if I try to ping 10.0.0.140 from PC1 it works
(ip_forward = 1)
But if I turned (ip_forward = 0) I still can ping to
10.0.0.140 from PC1. Is this O.K. or not?
I cannot telnet, ftp. Also If I connect computer to
eth1 I cannot connect to it, also can't ping.

This ping from PC1 to TESTPC, 10.0.0.140 is very
bothering me. Is this o.k. with kernel or is a bug?

Thanks for answering me that question, Frenk
