[ A copy of this message has been posted to the newsgroup ] [ comp.os.linux.misc ] I've upgraded the kernel on an all ISA 486 system from 2.2.22 to 2.4.20. With 2.4.20 the WD8003's IRQ is incorrectly recognized as 5, although it should be 11. With 2.2.20 automatic recognition worked fine. When I explicitely boot with ether="11,0x280,eth0" it works fine with 2.4.20. with 2.2.22: Nov 21 20:49:06 niigata kernel: wd.c: Presently autoprobing (not recommended) for a single card.
